Sky Software is looking for a hands-on IT Systems Engineer to keep our people productive and our infrastructure secure and reliable. You’ll own day-to-day operations across endpoints, servers, network, security, Microsoft 365, and you’ll help enforce our internal IT procedures and security standards.
Key responsibilities
- End-user & endpoint management: Format/repair workstations; install and support Windows, MS Office, printers, and standard line-of-business apps.
- Infrastructure operations: Maintain internal network (switches, routers, cabling, Internet links, Wi-Fi), UPS/power, printers, cameras, and on-prem servers.
- IT support: Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and fulfill installation requests with clear SLAs and documentation.
- Security & compliance: Execute internal IT procedures, security policies, contingency plans, backups, encryption, secure disposal, and incident response to meet corporate standards.
- Vendor management: Maintain relationships with hardware/software vendors; collect, compare, and assess proposals.
- Core services administration: Manage internal domain services—DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft Volume Licensing.
- File & access controls: Operate file servers; manage firewalls, threat protections, disk quotas, and NTFS permissions.
- Service platforms: Maintain internal services such as DHCP, antivirus/EDR, IP phones, and cloud PBX.
- Microsoft 365: Administer users, licenses, and services across Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and Dynamics 365.
- Business apps: Maintain our customer service software (health, permissions, user onboarding/assignment).
Required qualifications
- 3–5 years in IT systems/network administration supporting multiple teams.
- Solid hands-on experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server, AD DS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and file/print services.
- Practical knowledge of switching/routing basics, VLANs, TCP/IP, and firewall/NAT concepts.
- Proven experience administering Microsoft 365/Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Proficiency with backup/restore, endpoint protection, patching, and scripting basics (PowerShell preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer-service skills; fluent English (written/spoken).
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud PBX/VoIP administration and IP phone provisioning.
- Exposure to D365 administration and license management.
- Familiarity with security frameworks/best practices (e.g., CIS hardening, incident response playbooks).
- Experience with camera/NVR systems, UPS monitoring, and asset lifecycle management.
- Ticketing/ITSM tools and change management discipline.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent practical experience and certifications (e.g., MCSA/MD-102, AZ-104, Network+).
